It’s Busy in the City by Jedda Robaard: for all those construction loving kids out there - there’s always so much happening to describe all around town!
Where Is The Green Sheep? by Mem Fox: another true Aussie classic, for very good reason. Every one has their favourite sheep!

Peck Peck Peck by Lucy Cousins: such FUN! A longer story, but easily simplified with such pecking fun!
Let’s Play by Henry Tullet: a brilliant book for practising moving your focus away from what’s written, to instead what you’re both experiencing
Busy Series by Campbell: I love to see a book with great thick, chunky, robust bits to move and explore through play!
Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell: a book you don’t need to think hard about getting for keeps, and will love just as much as the puppy!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle: the spectacular lifecycle from egg to butterfly captured for all to enjoy on repeat forevermore. Classic status for such good reason.
The Very Noisy Baby by Alison Lester: we all know a very noisy baby - and this book just might bring a noisier babe out of your little one too!

Planes Planes Planes by Donna David and Nina Pirhonen: all sorts of amazing adjectives (describing words!) around a topic close to many little ones’ hearts - planes!
Alison Lester’s ABC by Alison Lester: rich imagery with lots of opportunity to learn all about the alphabet and letter-sound correspondence!
Little Angler by Zoe Gaetjens: such unique visuals of being under the sea! Engaging repetition and lots of lovely lift-the-flaps to discover!
Hooray for Fish by Lucy Cousins: beautiful, bright, and bubbly imagery of so many fish! Hooray!
Kissed by the Moon by Alison Lester: hands down my favourite bedtime book. A book that becomes a lullaby for young and old.
Where is Cheeky Monster? by Mike Lucas: guess who might be the cheeky monster at the end?!
