My name is Annie, and I’m a speech pathologist just for little people and those who love them in this big wide world.
I’m here to support, champion and advocate for you and your child on your precious early years journey together - from understanding what’s going on and why, to exploring and equipping you with how you can best help, and knowing where and when to get the right additional supports in place around you both to thrive.
Throughout my 11 years as a speech pathologist, I’ve worked in early intervention for feeding, swallowing and communication in leading tertiary paediatric hospitals, community settings and private practice around Australia and the world (from Far North Queensland, to Perth, Singapore, London and now back here at home in Brisbane!). The places I’ve worked, and the trainings that guide my clinical skills and philosophy are all laid out below.
All that being said, the biggest (and steepest, and most rewarding!) learning for me recently has been walking the talk of my feeding and communication skills as a mum myself. Being a parent is a wild ride - let alone with any sense of worry about how your child is growing and developing.
Joining the Parent Club has affirmed for me what I’ve already been practicing and preaching - there’s so much more to making feeding and communication strategies work for children and families than exploring how to embed them in to daily routines. So often, something gets lost in the translation of our clinical theory into the messy, busy and beautiful day-to-day life of young families. I see my role as walking alongside you on your journey, however it looks - and I would love to walk with you.
